Leadership doesn’t have to be a lonely task.
Probably one of the best things that will help you on your journey as a leader is also one of the oldest. We are of course talking about taking help and advice from a teacher or companion. Throughout the history of mankind, many leaders have sought the wisdom and experience of others to help them. In fact the word ”mentor” has its roots in Greek mythology. In the Odyssey, Mentor was a character who advised and protected Odysseus’ son Telemachus

Having good and trusted support can be invaluable. It is not always the case that a leader is able to share all of their thoughts with the the rest of their team, and this is where having someone as a “bouncing board” can be of great help. If you are looking for a such a person it is important to try and find someone who you respect and can trust. You will want to find someone that you know will challenge you and always give you their honest opinion. Someone that will constantly help you raise your game.

Who has been your greatest support during your career?  Many of the people that take leadership programmes at Think Do and Grow, greatly appreciate the fact that when they meet with one of our leadership coaches, that they have someone to meet and bounce ideas with on a regular basis. Feel free to contact us if you want to find out more about how we can help you.
