Here is a list of 5 things we think that every company should think extra about in 2018.
Feel free to share our list and let us know what you think is missing in the comments section below.
1) Have an open discussion about #MeToo:
The #MeToo movement took the world by storm in 2017. It is very easy to say that “we don’t have a problem here” and to let the issue fade away. However, just because it doesn’t exist at your company today doesn’t mean that it hasn’t happened before or won’t happen in the future. If you haven’t already discussed #MeToo in your company and built policies based around it, then now is the time to start.
2) React better to your customers:
The customer should always be listened to… even more so in 2018 where one online complaint from an unhappy customer can go viral in minutes and sink a company’s value in seconds.
3) Capitalise on the World Cup:
For the first time since 2006, Sweden is at the football World Cup. Nothing makes your customers spend more on luxury products like some healthy world cup optimism. Is your company ready to capitalise? On the down side, some true football fans can become unfortunately “sick” and require time off from work when big matches are played. Setting up TV screens at work, allowing staff to work at home, or approving holiday days when key matches are played may help your company avoid unnecessary disruption this summer.
4) Take note of Generation Z:
The first batch of Generation Z will be finishing university and seeking employment in 2018. Are you ready to employ them? If not employ them, then are you ready to capitalise on their new spending power? If you still haven’t figured out what Snapchat and Instagram stories are, then now is the time to learn.
5) Invest more in your employees:
For many workers it is no longer the lure of extra money that attracts to them a new job, more over it is the potential for self improvement and better life balance that is a key decider. Letting your staff take a leadership programme from Think Do & Grow is the perfect way to let both the employee and your company grow. Win / Win!
